Every Caribbean airport works a little differently. Knowing where to go, who will meet you and what to expect can make your Island Birds connection remarkably simple.
Find your airport below and review the instructions before you travel. We also recommend keeping a working cell phone with you so our team or ground handlers can reach you if needed.
Keep Your Phone On
Please provide Island Birds with a working cell phone number that you will have with you while traveling. This helps us coordinate your arrival and departure if anything changes.
Tell Us About Carry-On Only
If your entire party will be traveling with carry-on luggage only, please let us know in advance. This can make a significant difference to airport and departure logistics.
Know Your Meeting Point
Some airports use private FBOs, some use airline terminals and others have dedicated ground handlers. Check your airport instructions before arrival so you know exactly where to go.

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO
San Juan International Airport (SJU)
For passengers connecting from a commercial flight in San Juan, Island Birds operates through Airport Aviation Services, our private FBO connection point at SJU. Learn more about our private flights from San Juan to the British Virgin Islands.
AAS VIP Shuttle Service
After landing at SJU on your commercial carrier, call AAS Operations and let them know that you have arrived.
Then proceed to baggage claim and collect your luggage.
ARRIVING ON JETBLUE
Meet the AAS Van at the “I Love PR” Sign
After collecting your luggage, go upstairs to the departures level and proceed outside to the walkway.
Look for the large “I Love PR” sign outside the terminal. The AAS van will meet you at the curb in this area.
ALL OTHER AIRLINES
From Baggage Claim to the AAS Pickup Point
Exit outside the baggage claim area, turn left and walk toward the elevator approximately 30 yards away.
Take the elevator to the departures level. Exit the elevator, proceed outside to the sidewalk and turn left.
Continue past Door 1 toward the JetBlue terminal and the “I Love PR” sign. The AAS van will be waiting there for you.
If the van has not yet arrived, remain by the “I Love PR” sign and the driver will meet you there shortly.

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO
Isla Grande Airport (SIG)
Landing at SJU and Departing from SIG?
After collecting your luggage at SJU, proceed outside to the taxi area and ask your driver for the Isla Grande Airport Terminal.
The drive is generally short. When you arrive, enter the small terminal building where your Island Birds pilot will be waiting for you.

Major Airport Meeting Instructions
These are some of the airports our passengers most frequently use when connecting with Island Birds.
St. Thomas
After collecting your luggage, proceed to Gate 10. Learn more about our private flights from St. Thomas to the BVI.
When you exit baggage claim you will be on the sidewalk outside the terminal. Turn right and remain on the sidewalk beside the roadway.
Walk to the opposite end of the terminal and enter Gate 10. Your Island Birds Captain will meet you there.
Please advise us in advance if your entire group will be traveling with carry-on luggage only.
Antigua
At the end of the arrival hall, at the top of the escalators, a representative from Signature, our VIP ground handlers, will meet you holding a sign bearing your family name. Learn more about our private flights from Antigua to the BVI.
If you are not met, collect your luggage, exit Customs and proceed to Counter #1.
St. Maarten
After collecting your luggage, call Execujet and let them know you are ready to be picked up. Learn more about our private flights from St. Maarten to the BVI.
Proceed outside to the curb and look for Execujet personnel. They will escort you to the private FBO.
If Execujet is unable to collect you, exit Customs with your luggage, proceed outside and turn right. The Execujet FBO is approximately a one-minute walk from the terminal.
St. Croix
Please proceed to Bohlke International Aviation FBO.
The FBO is located on the southwest side of the airport, approximately one mile west of the main terminal.
Parking is available outside the FBO. Proceed inside and your Island Birds Captain will be waiting for you.
BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS
BVI Airport Information

Beef Island / Tortola
Please proceed to the VIA counter. As you enter the terminal it is straight ahead, in the middle of the airline counters. Learn more about our private flights to Tortola.
An Island Birds representative will be waiting for you there.
Please arrive at least 45 minutes before departure. During peak travel periods this may increase to one hour and we will advise you accordingly.
Virgin Gorda
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before departure to help ensure an on-time flight. Learn more about private flights to Virgin Gorda.
Your Island Birds pilot will meet you inside the small terminal building.
Anegada
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before an international departure and 15 minutes before a domestic departure. Learn more about private flights to Anegada.

A representative from Lloyd’s Aviation will meet your taxi when you arrive at the airport.
They will handle your luggage and escort you through security to your awaiting aircraft.

The ground handling team will assist with your luggage, VIP security processing and transportation to your awaiting aircraft.
